Taylor Swift has certainly been working on her upcoming documentary with Netflix for quite some time. And now, Netflix has revealed its release date.
Meanwhile, the Netflix documentary named Miss Americana, directed by Lana Wilson is about her life.
But until now, we were not quite sure whether it would release or not due to her feud with Scooter Braun.
Last year, she got caught up in a feud with Scooter and Scott. After they purchased Taylor’s old record label, Big Machine Records.
On November 2019, Taylor shared a statement on Twitter saying
"Guys – it’s been announced recently that the American Music Awards will be honouring me with the Artist of the Decade Award at this year’s ceremony. I’ve been planning to perform a medley of my hits throughout the decade on the show."
Then she claimed,
"Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun have now said that I’m not allowed to perform my old songs on television because they claim that would be re-recording my music before I’m allowed to next year and this isn’t the way I had planned on telling you this news – Netflix has created a documentary about my life for the past few years."
She also wrote,
"Scott and Scooter have declined the use of my older music or performance footage for this project even though there is no mention of them or Big Machine Records anywhere in the film."
Though in December, Variety reported that the music rights had been cleared “within a timely manner”.
Finally, the film Miss Americana will make its official debut at the Sundance Film Festival on January 23. After that, it will also be accessible on Netflix from January 31.
Also, On January 15, Taylor posted the first poster of the documentary on her Instagram.
In addition, Netflix described the film as:
“A raw and emotionally revealing look at Taylor Swift; following one of the most iconic artists of our time as she learns to embrace her role not only as a songwriter and performer, but as a woman harnessing the full power of her voice.”
Thus, we are hoping that all the old Taylor Swift songs will be included in Miss Americana.
